Turfonline’s main office is in Northamptonshire but we also have a satellite office in Southport, Lancashire. This year we moved to a custom made building on the outskirts of Southport. Find out more in this blog.
If you have travelled on the A570 between Southport and Ormskirk, you will probably have seen Harrowden Turf’s old office sitting beside the road in Scarisbrick. (Turfonline is the online shop for Harrowden Turf Ltd). The office was “inherited” from Turfland who now trade as Harrowden Turf Ltd.
That office was in a beautiful building but as Turfland merged with Harrowden Turf and the Company evolved, we needed different things from our office space. So the decision was made to build something that exactly met the needs of customers and staff.
Two of our most pressing concerns were access and the environment.
Access to the Scarisbrick office was directly onto the A570. It’s a busy road with fast moving traffic which was a worry for staff and visitors.
Company policy is to minimise our impact on the environment. Our new office will be more efficient in terms of heating and lighting. More importantly it’s sited right next to our turf despatch depot and close to the production fields. That means less travelling backwards and forwards with paperwork and much better communication between the customer service, harvesting and despatch teams.
Where is our new office?
The address for our new office is Moss Farm, Heathey Lane, Southport PR8 5JD
Lisa Stone, Team Leader at Southport is very enthusiatic about the premises
“We moved in just before Easter so we’ve had plenty of time now to settle in. It’s a lovely light, airy and modern environment to work in and many thanks go to Simon and Louise at head office for all their work in delivering the project.” Lisa adds “It’s proving to be very beneficial for the day to day operations as everyone is in one place at last, improving communications and customer service.”
